Tryout questions

When are AAU basketball tryouts in Houston?

Most Houston-area clubs hold tryouts from January through March for the spring and summer season, which runs March through July. A second, smaller window opens in September for fall rosters. Each club sets its own dates.

Which age group does my child try out for?

Divisions run by age or grade. An 8th grader usually plays 14U, a 9th grader 15U. If your child sits between two divisions, ask the club which roster fits.

What if we missed tryouts?

Contact the club anyway. Many rosters take players mid-season, and the fall season is a lower-pressure way in before spring tryouts.
